BIOGRAPHY

Johnique W. Lang (Chef J’La), began operations for EPICuisines in 2014 as part of a catering start up business that later began to encourage healthy meal planning to clients. After six months of catering and meal planning, her vision grew much bigger as she realized the missing links to a healthy life style. She knew through personal experience that health was more than physical and if she was going to be of encouragement, she needed to include all aspects of health. Chef J’La wanted people to understand health was a combination of spiritual, mental and physical being.

Through her leadership, EPICuisines (Encouraging People w/ Inspirational Cuisines) began to take a new approach. The company decided it would minister, consult and educate people on how to prepare their meals properly through hands-on cooking demonstrations and meal preparation services. Through her services people will experience what the word of God says about faith, discipline and health and its connection to food.

Chef J’La has a degree in Communications, certified in Food & Health Management and obtaining her nutritional certification from the American Fitness Professionals & Associations. Her culinary skills are accredited to The Art Institution of Houston and a family history of cooks that embedded a southern soul to every meal they prepared.

Chef J’ La is a member of the American Culinary Federation (AFC); the Texas Chef Association (TCA); the Houston Food Bank; the National Association of Professional Women; serves as Secretary for the Board of Directors with Choose To Do, inc., and the American Fitness Professionals & Associations. She has served on multiple committees in support of personal and professional development that help assists others with living a healthier life mentally, physically and spiritually.
